At the start of this year the Bridge team were busy replacing the old bridge at Ariundle Glen in Strontian. The old bridge had been condemned for the last three years due to the deterioration of the two main steel beams, the locals were very keen to get this access open again. A new Aerial mast bridge was to be installed using the original abutments but raising the structure on oak bearers to gain extra clearance from the river. This area is renowned for extreme rises in water level when the river is in spate, due to this the new bridge would also be extended an extra ten meters. The team did a excellent job, battling the elements (worse snow in Strontian for 20 years) to deliver a top quality finish.
